Caption: Another burst of activity on the Sun kicked off on 19 October, with an X1.6 X-ray flare coming from Active Region 9661 at 00:47 UT, and an associated full halo Coronal Mass Ejection detected by LASCO at 01:27 UT. A moderate increase in high energy particles started one to two hours after the flare.
A weaker flare (M5.7) from another region (AR9658) started at 09:35 UT, but then at 16:13 UT another X1.6 flare from the first region (AR9661). Another jump in high-energy particles was observed after that.
