NRO Heliograph Tohban's Report for Week 30 (20 July 1998 - 26 July 1998) Tohban : K. Shibasaki 1. Solar Activity Solar activity enhanced due to the appearance of AR8280 from the south east limb on July 21st. It accompanies bright compact component with high degree of circular polarization which coincides with the preceding large sunspot (gyroresonance emission). The following plage area produced LDE type flares on July 22nd (near the east limb) and on July 24th. ----------------------------------------------------- DAY START END MAX.TIME DUR. Remarkable Events found by NRH A LDE type flare ocurred on July 22 around 04:45 UT. The location was near the sourth east limb (AR8280). The flare was preceded by a plasma ejection from the south end of the active region. On July 24 at 03:15 UT, a point like flaring occurred on the south west limb (AR 8274) and then LDE type flare similar to the one on July 22 followed in the following plage region. 3.
