Study 000198: ACRONYM: ar_velocity_map_v3 The aim is take a fairly deep exposure of an active region over a large area (7.5 x 6.5 arcmin2) for the purposes of velocity measurements and diagnostics. I've set the duration to be about 5hr 40min so it should fit nicely between the XRT synoptics. This type of study was one of the original ones developed by the EIS Science Working Group and was implemented as COMSCI_AR3 for the 90 day plan. Consists of two rasters: (1) 560x512 arcsec2 raster with 40" slit; 10 s exposure time (2) 460x384 arcsec2 raster with 1" slit; 40 s exposure time Raster (1) gives context information in 15 wavelength windows. Raster (2) has a very extensive line list that covers virtually all major EIS lines. USE: produces very detailed diagnostic information over a large area. Should be run on medium-to-large active regions. WARNING: raster (1) should only be repeated once. WARNING: The study should be placed on the timeline such that the change from raster (1) to raster (2) does not take place during an SAA period. Raster (1) lasts for 3 minutes so this should be straightforward to evaluate.
