MDI high-res/1-min cadence support from about 1900 through 0300. Target: Center of MDI high-res field of view TRACE: Produces 2-hour movies at one minute cadence. 14-16hr 171A 16-18hr 195A 18-20hr 284A 20-22hr 1216A 22-24hr 1600A CDS:LARGEBP2 - Deep exposure raster of 4x4 arcmin area Wide temperature range of lines using CDS-NIS - usually He I 584, O III 599, O V 629, Ca X 558, Mg IX 368, MgX 625, Fe XII 364, Fe XIII 348, Si XII 520 and the density pairs of Fe XIV 334/353 and Si X 346/356. This takes almost 2 hours. MDI: When obtain VC2 (at ~ 17:40 UT) will start supporting this study with high resolution magnetograms. EIT: 195 CME watch program will support * Coronal Variability, 29 April 00:00 - 03:00 UT. Goal: To study coronal variability and structural changes. Target: Center of MDI high-res fov TRACE: For a single pointing, take a 3-hr movie at 195A, with a 30 sec. cadence. Coordinated with MDI high-res/1-min cadence. MDI: High resolution magnetograms (85% of high resolution FOV, allows MDI to get a continuum image) EIT: 171 angstroms at 5 minute cadence for 3 hours. * Lyman-alpha movie, 29 April 05 -15 UT. Goal: Lyman alpha movie, with 171&195 for context every 16 min. Study of Ly variability at 2 min. cadence. Target: Center of MDI high-res fov. CDS: LARGEBP2 EIT: 195 Angstrom CME watch supports this. * CIV Variability, 29 April - 1 May Goal: Study of C IV variability, using images at all three CIV passbands. Target: Center of MDI high-res fov (29 April 15:00 - 23:45 UT). Active Region (30 April 12:00 - 24:00 UT) TBD (1 May 00:00 - 11:00 UT) TRACE: 3 min cadence for CIV triplet; 24 min. 171&195 context images MDI: high resolution magnetograms EIT: 195 Angstrom CME watch supports this. * Crosscalibration of TRACE with CDS and EIT, 1 May 12:30 - 23:30 UT Goal: Crosscalibration of TRACE with CDS and EIT. At 3 min. cadence, provide images at all wavelengths. Target: Quiet Sun area. Quiet region in MDI high-res field of view. CDS -- grazing indidence mode to obtain an areal scan at the TRACE wavelengths. To be optimized. Suggestion: relatively large field at 4'' resolution, followed by smaller field at 2'' resolution? EIT - Run three 3 hour sequences at 171, 195 and 284 angstroms. 15 minute cadence. Moving several synoptic times (13:00 syn --> 12:00 UT & 19:00 syn --> 20:00 UT) to accomadate: 12:30 - 15:00 UT -- 284 A at 5 minute cadence 17:00 - 20:00 UT -- 171 A at 5 minute cadence 20:30 - 23:30 UT -- 195 A at 5 minute cadence throughout these periods, the 195 A CME watch will continue but will be 2x2 binned. EIT will take up most of LASCO/EIT telemetry. MDI - high resolution magnetograms. * Central Meridian Scan, May 2, 00:00 - 00:30 UT Goal: scan central meridian at all wavelengths (synoptic program) Takes about 15 min. Coordinated with start of CDS synoptic scan for north polar region. Target: central meridian. TRACE -- central meridian at all wavelengths (synoptic program) EIT -- Moving synoptic set to 00:00 (instead of 01:00) for supporting observations. CDS -- Synoptic program. Note: Although a synoptic program, giving a campaign status, since EIT shifting normal synoptic to accomodate start of program. Relevant Notes: --------------- CDS -- Mainly aforementioned JOPS, also performing a flare interrupt campaign. An hour or so after a flare occurs, will study aftermath. (Can handle no larger than C class flares safely). For the weekend (May 2-3), there are no plans to run JOP059. There are other plans for CDS/TRACE/MDI collaborations, but will confirm later next week. Possibly a transition region variation study on Saturday (AR target) and a Quiet Sun study on Sunday. EIT -- Aside from aforementioned JOPs, 195 CME watch continues. Only supporting JOP063 on Monday. LASCO -- Synoptic UVCS -- The global sun dynamics will continue covering the East limb and the South Pole. Observations from 1.3-3.6 solar radii. detecting line profiles at high spectral resolution. Lines observed: OVI, SiXII, Ly-a, Ly-b, FeXII, NV. Campaign with Kanzelhohe continues until the end of the week. 27 April 15:00 UT - 28 April 01:00 UT PA 72 deg (18 NE), scan 1.3 3.6 R 28 April 15:00 UT - 29 April 01:00 UT PA 108 deg (18 SE), scan 1.3 3.6 R 29 April 15:00 UT - 30 April 01:00 UT PA 144 deg (54 SE), scan 1.3 3.6 R 30 April 15:00 UT - 01 May 01:00 UT PA 216 deg (54 SW), scan 1.3 3.6 R 01 May 15:00 UT - 03 May 01:00 UT PA 180 deg South Pole, scan 1.3 3.6 R 2-3 May will probably also be at the South Pole. synoptic obs are run daily on 01:00-14:00 UT (except on 24 April synoptic at 05:00-18:00 UT) MDI -- Plans are still in a state of flux. Will be running a dynamics campaign during their continuous contact.
