SOHO WEEKLY PLANNING MEETING MINUTES 1. ANNOUNCEMENTS Martin Hueber will be a Science Operations Leader for next week. 2. MONTHLY SCHEDULE UPDATE Only minor modifications to planners in future weeks. Some discussion that JOP33 will be moved from present calendar dates to start slightly earlier during the week but this will depend on the active region target and will be decided as dates approach. See SOHO web pages for latest updates. 3. OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS DSN Schedule is fairly "normal" next week start times roughly 13/14 UT to 00:00/01:30 UT. SVM Reserved from 15 - 21 UT on Tuesday, October 1 for memory dump, instrument teams should not expect to get any NRT before 21 UT. 4. COORDINATED OPERATIONS The following coordinated observations will take place next week: M Sep 30 (W40) Intercal001 (#535, CDS/SUMER/EIT/UVCS), EOF Coordinator: Joe Michels, ~16 - 21 UT T Oct 1 6 hours SVM Reserved for Memory Dump from 15 - 21 UT JOP046 (#470); EOF: Phil Judge (SUMER/CDS/EIT/MDI) Intercal002 CDS/SUMER from 14 - 21:30 UT W Oct 2 JOP046 (#470); EOF: Phil Judge (SUMER/CDS/EIT/MDI) Active Region Campaign (#525, EIT/LASCO), 14-16:00 UT; EOF Coordinator: Chris St. Cyr and Werner Neupert T Oct 3 TBC - JOP042 (#530), Non-Thermal Line Broadening, CDS/SUMER, 7.5 hrs, JOP-leader Paal Brekke Active Region Campaign (#525, EIT/LASCO), 14-16:00 UT; EOF Coordinator: Chris St. Cyr and Werner Neupert F Oct 4 TBC - JOP042 (#530), Non-Thermal Line Broadening, CDS/SUMER, 7.5 hrs, JOP-leader Paal Brekke JOP020 (#520), Nano-Flares - Viggo Hansteen (3 hrs) (coordinated with EIT) S Oct 5 S Oct 6 Planners for Week 40: --------------------- CDS - Bill Thompson (until 10/4)/Dominic Zarro SUMER - Phil Judge UVCS - Martin Huber EIT - Werner Neupert MDI - Julia Saba MDI will be doing calibrations on Monday. MDI have their Hi-Res field-of-view available for JOPs from Tuesday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday, MDI will be doing helioseismology observations. JOP020 - Will move time of JOP020 so that MDI can participate with VC2 data. JOP042 -- the timing on this JOP will be confirmed tomorrow/monday later. (Originally wanted to move to weekend but MDI would not have their high resolution field-of-view available) JOP46 - disk center for pointing, EIT providing 171 A images. JOP046 looking for ground based support, in particular would like to have data at 10830 Angstroms in a cadence of 1 image per minute. Will probably like to run a shortened version of JOP046 at the north coronal hole sometime next week. Additional collaborations: CDS/SUMER Network studies (Monday) and limb active region studies (Wed) also planned. UVCS would also like to run a short collaboration with EIT observing plumes mainly for registration. 5. WEEKLY SCIENCE TIMELINE Some extra VC2 time may be needed by MDI next week (for calibrations). OCD will be submitted. No large command uploads expected next week. 6. AOB Paal Brekke made a movie of LaPalma observations, which is now showing in the EOF. roughly 12 s cadence
