SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes for Friday 11 July 2003 ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * FOT have resumed regular Y axis antenna movements (nominal HGA control, Y axis only, at 00 UT, 08 UT, and 16 UT every day) but the movements will be done in high-speed mode (100 Hz) instead of the low-speed mode (0.1 Hz) used earlier. This is just in case a thermal cycling problem was responsible for the Z axis problems. Thermal cycling is negligible for the high-speed mode, not for the low-speed mode. Since a concern regarding spacecraft jitter was among the original reasons for using the low-speed mode, we would like all instruments to check for any noticeable (or rather: significant) impacts due to the very short (less than a second) movements at the above times. * NOTE: We would like to have a common policy for SOHO fits files for the 180-degree rotated periods (they may cover 50% of the remaining mission lifetime). We ask that you DO NOT ROTATE the data in fits files - the rotation should be handled through standard fits keywords. CHANGED since yesterday - In summary: Make sure your fits file keywords for solar coordinates show actual solar coordinates, *not* spacecraft coordinates! (In addition to specifying the rotation to be applied to the image). Check out the SSWIDL routine get_soho_roll for one way of getting the correct input for the spacecraft nominal roll position for an arbitrary time. * Current RHESSI default target is AR10401. When selecting this target to maximize coordination w/others, use campaign number 6850. * A basewide network service outage for the gsfc.nasa.gov domain has been scheduled for the weekend commencing July 11th at 6:00 pm and ending at 12:00 midnight on Sunday July 13th. * Mounting trace-arch00 will be different than before starting at noon on Monday - see Amy if you need more details. * DSN for this week: Friday: D63 08:50 - 12:50 D/L only 70m D66 08:50 - 12:50 Uplink D54 13:20 - 17:20 D45 23:15 - 02:50 D/L only D46 00:05 - 02:50 Uplink Saturday: D34 02:30 - 04:50 D65 06:00 - 14:15 D/L only D66 06:00 - 14:15 Uplink D14 16:40 - 20:40 D/L only 70m D16 16:40 - 20:40 Uplink Sunday: D45 00:20 - 05:40 D/L only D46 00:20 - 05:40 Uplink D54 07:25 - 10:40 D65 10:20 - 14:50 D/L only D66 10:20 - 14:50 Uplink D45 23:05 - 06:50 D/L only D46 23:05 - 06:50 Uplink FOT REPORT ---------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal, except: Inverted roll position, HR Telemetry (34m only), HGA position monitoring disabled Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: Orient Y-axis to nominal pointing, NOM HGA (y-axis only), Switch to HR on HGA, SWAN, NONCOHO Planned Activities: RSL, CELIAS, VIRGO, SWAN Upcoming Operations: None Ground Anomalies: None SOLAR STATUS ------------ 07/10 DOY 191 - 07/11 DOY 192 EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20030711.html LASCO daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/observations/Todays_obs.html Web Page for Planning: http://www.bbso.njit.edu/arm Magnetic Maps and Heliospheric Forecasts: http://www.lmsal.com/forecast/ INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal.
