ANNOUNCEMENTS

* All OCD's for the weekend must be in by noon today
* X-panel heater changes continue. There will be no NRT today
from 19:00-19:10 UT.
* ICAL is today at 16 UT
* Submode change is today at 19:10 UT.
* There will be security scans on Monday starting after
11:15 am local time. Please turn off ipfilter, portsentry,
zonealarm, or whatever other personal firewall type software
you might be running so that the scan can be done without
long timeout delays.
Note that we're still looking into this matter.

Spacecraft Status: Nominal
Spacecraft Anomalies:
317/1756 SUMER DPU hung and the instrument's power was
cycled at the LCL level per OCD #1583. Impacts TBD.
319/0112 Experiment off-pointing monitoring executed when
FPSS anomaly flag triggered. Cause unknown at this
time; investigation pending.

317 VIRGO, RSL, 26 Meter equipment test with D16
318 VIRGO, Roll Maneuver activities
319 Completion of Roll Maneuver activities, VIRGO, Nom. HGA Table
Planned Activities: VIRGO, CELIAS, RSL

SUMER stops observations
Switch to DHSS Science Submode 6 (~1910 UTC)
Upcoming Operations: Nov 3-19: X-panel Heater Turn-Off
Ground Anomalies:
318/1029 Big pipe failed between Madrid and JPL. Lost
3 minutes 21 seconds of recoverable data. Delayed
roll maneuver preparation activities 3 minutes 21
seconds.
318/1934 Degraded telemetry due to RFI between 1934 and
2229. Any lost data is unrecoverable.
318/2230 Late carrier up at D46, cause unidentified.
Delayed roll maneuver activities 14 minutes.
319/0013 Experiment off-pointing monitoring triggered as the
AOCS pointing flags were not cleared prior to
enabling the COBS function.
319/0622 Y-axis hydraulics failure at D66 caused AOS to be 4
minutes late.
319/1904 Corrupted command due to low uplink power on D27 delayed
NRT commanding 3 minutes 26 seconds.
319/2110 Degraded telemetry due to RFI received from 2110 to 2141
(31 minutes). Any lost data is unrecoverable.

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. CDS will do ICAL 1 today; support UVCS/Ulysses observations
on Saturday; and CME watch on AR 9690 on Sunday. CDS will also
do other usual weekend studies.
SUMER: Nominal. ICAL today. Powering down at 18:30 UT.
UVCS: Nominal. UVCS will observe at 340 degrees for Ulysses
campaign through the weekend. Mini synoptic today and
Sunday and long synoptic on Saturday.
LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics.
EIT: Nominal. 195 Angstrom CME watch and synoptics. ICAL today.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams. Then MDI
will switch to high res mode for a line profile study to
be run today and Saturday.
TRACE: Nominal. Continued to observe AR 9690 in UV. Then ran
some flats. Then switched to AR 9697 (coordinating with
MDI in high res)

Today is Klaus Wilhelm's last day here for SUMER operations since
next year he will be retiring. It has been great working with you
Klaus and we send our best wishes with you. Werner Curdt will be
taking over as the PI for SUMER when Klaus retires.
