SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes for Monday, 15 May 2000
ANNOUNCEMENTS
-------------
Due to ECS downtime, telemetry from DOY 134 19:51-21:58 UT
will be arriving as quicklooks.
FOT REPORT
----------
Spacecraft Status: Nominal
Spacecraft Anomalies:
134/1947 CDS parameter CUVMCP violated red high limit for 2
minutes. Impacts TBD.
135/1855 CEPAC ESU Data Request Error. CEPAC non-
operational for ~2 min.
Accomplished Activities:
133: VIRGO, RSL
134: VIRGO
135: VIRGO, SWAN, Noncoho, Flight S/W Maint.
Planned Activities: VIRGO, CELIAS, MDI x2
Upcoming Operations: None
Ground Anomalies:
134/1237 TLM dropout due to packet extractor failure at
POCC. Lost real-time data from 1237 to 1255. Data
recoverable via the CDR.
136/0620 Late AOS due to TCA failure. Data recoverable from
D46 and the SSR. Delayed pass activities ~11 min.
136/0801 Clock correlation output invalid due to TGC problem at D66.
SOLAR STATUS
------------
05/12 DOY 133 - 05/15 DOY 136
EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations:
http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20000515.html
LASCO daily On-Line Solar Status and observations:
http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/observations/2000/obs20000515.html
UVCS caught a CME in the NE between 10 and 12 UT today.
TRACE observed a number of C flares over the weekend.
INSTRUMENT STATUS
-----------------
CDS: Nominal. See MEDOC report below.
SUMER: Nominal. See MEDOC report below.
UVCS: Nominal. 24-hour synoptics today in the SW to support
Cassini solar wind study.
LASCO: Nominal. C2 and C3 synoptics.
EIT: Nominal. CME watch in 195 and synoptics.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk program continues.
JOP118 support during contact today and tomorrow.
MDI may support La Palma later in the week.
TRACE: Nominal. Doing flare watch on AR 8896 today and will
observe moss targets tomorrow (still waiting to hear
target from LaPalma). If JOP118 happens to
target the same area tomorrow TRACE will support it
as well.

*** MEDOC CAMPAIGN #5 -- Week 3 ****
Daily meeting 15 May at MEDOC (11 am, local time)
Scientific Observations of the week-end
---------------------------------------
JOP 124, Active Filament : good weather at THEMIS. Context images of CDS
show well the circular filament.
On May 14 after 10.00 UT, the THEMIS MSDP could observe an eruption in the
active region located East of the filament. The filament has stayed stable.
JOP 118, Sunspot Oscillations : the spot seems to have weakened. Nominal
coordinates indicate that GIS was in the penumbra.
JOP 95, Oscillations : SUMER noticed that a line must be recentered.
Today observations :
--------------------
THEMIS goes back to MTR mode for JOP124. But bad weather.
State of the Sun
----------------
Big sunspot at the N-East arrives at the SUMER location.
Observing times evidence some overlap with JOP 124. An agreement is found
after a teleconf' with O. K-Moe in Oslo.
Interesting equatorial coronal hole in view (as seen in 10830 A).
Scheduled Observations (all times are UT, unless otherwise stated)
