GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO ACTIVE, WITH ISOLATED MINOR STORMING CONDITIONS POSSIBLE AT HIGHER LATITUDES DURING THE SECOND DAY OF THE PERIOD. 03/23 DOY 083 - 03/24 DOY 084 EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20000324.html INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Will open doors tonight. On weekend will do JOP 121, MMOP#006 on AR 8921. Other plans include a north and south polar study, and explosive events monitoring. UVCS: Nominal. UVCS will resume observations when temperatures have returned to normal late this afternoon or this evening. They plan a CME watch in the NW, normal synoptics and will finish the calibration study in the South. LASCO: Nominal. Will recover tomorrow and resume C2/C3 synoptics. EIT: Nominal. CME watch in 304 Angstroms until LASCO opens doors. Then, 195 Angstroms CME watch with synoptics. MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams through the weekend. TRACE: Nominal. MMOP#006 today on AR 8910. No engineering or 'other' scheduled so during the GBO off-hours TRACE will continue staring at AR 8910 in 195. On the weekend TRACE will support MMOP#006 on AR 8921 TRACE might do a Sunspot Oscillations Study with high cadence 195 Angstrom observations from 04:30-14:30 UT. MDI might join in on this.
