Lost 8 min of unrecoverable data, and 31 minutes of command capability. SOLAR STATUS ------------ SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LOW TO MODERATE. THE POSSIBLITY OF M-CLASS LEVEL ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO DECREASE AS REGION 8869 ROTATES OVER THE WEST LIMB. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE PERIOD, BECOMING MORE UNSETTLED TO ACTIVE IN THE LAST HALF OF THE PERIOD TO DUE THE EFFECTS OF A RETURNING HIGH SPEED CORONAL HOLE STREAM. 02/22 DOY 053 - 02/23 DOY 054 EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20000223.html Lasco C2 sees 9 CMEs in the past 24 hours. 02/22 01:31 UT very large event in SSW. Large loop CME near South Pole. Series of CME events from NE region starting at 10:31, a second event following at 12:54, a third event following at 13:54, and a fourth event at same area at 19:30 which was a partial HALO event in the corona 160 degrees wide. PA 5-165 degrees. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Sunspot Oscillation Studies at AR 8879 and ICAL 001 at 17:00 UT, then calibrations. Tomorrow more Sunspot Oscillations and Oslo sunspot raster study of AR 8879. UVCS: Nominal. Mirror Scan at 58 degrees, with mapping of extended Corona from 2.65 - 3.4 Rsun. LASCO: Nominal. Observations with C2 and C3 while CME watching. EIT: Nominal. CME Watch, Full resolution 195 Angstrom images at 12-minute cadence. ICAL 001 today 17:08-18:40 UT with TRACE and CDS. MDI: Nominal. Full disk Magnetograms and Dopplergrams. TRACE: Nominal. Emerging flux program today and tomorrow. ICAL 001 17:08 UT with CDS and EIT. Later AR 8879 Sunspot Study then more Emerging flux in SW.
