15 June 1998 SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes Chaired by: Joan Hollis (SOC)/ Dominic Zarro (SOL) Notes by: Kevin Schenk (EIT) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- Anomalies with network/gatekeeper have made things difficult for those teams who submit delayed command files and those who receive command history reports. A separate notice to those teams that submit delayed command files will be sent via e-mail with instructions. Command history reports are incomplete starting on June 11, 1998. We will attempt to get these up to date shortly. REGIONS 8242, 8243 (N18E51), AND 8247 (S23E17) MAY PRODUCE ISOLATED C-CLASS FLARES. REGION 8242 MAY ALSO PRODUCE AN ISOLATED M-CLASS FLARE. THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED. ISOLATED ACTIVE PERIODS ARE POSSIBLE ON DAY THREE. Saturday: CME from AR 8241 in SW at 02:50 UT finishing with bright arcade. Large M1 class flare at 04:20 UT located from fresh un-identified region in SE, just west of AR 8242. (flare is shown clearly in EIT 195 image at 04:20). Continued brightnings and microflare activity throughout the afternoon. Small Moreton Wave with CME radiating NW from AR 8237 south of disk center at 15:40 UT. (GOES shows C3 class activity during this time). Sunday: Continued loop expansion in AR 8232 on SW limb with small CME ejection at 13:51 UT. Lots of small scale brightnings and flashes in leading area of 8242 at 01:14, 03:04, and 05:20 UT. May corespond to the GOES C2 activity at 01:00 UT. Today: Erupted Prominence/CME from behind the East Limb starting at 06:14 UT. Great EIT 304A image of 07:19 UT seen at: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/#ERUPTIVE 08:51 UT filament in south near disk meridain is dancing and elevated at this time. A large swirling loop has formed on limb in SSW. Targets for the day: JOP082: (0, -30) JOP038: (100, 30) Coronal Hole Oscillations: (-47", +1028") INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- TRACE Nominal.
