D24 TM online @ 1231 TM is recoverable Solar Activity ---------- Yesterday: EIT determined that the flare was on NE limb. Large CMEs seen at 00:00 UT and 9:30 UT by EIT and UVCS. LASCO saw big CME yesterday on E limb at 10:00 UT, very bright and moderately fast. Today: EIT saw a CME off NW limb at 07:57 UT, flare from AR 8232 in SW seen just before the CME in EIT 195 image. Instrument Reports ------------------ UVCS Nominal. Continuing C1 program looking at line profiles. Today: testing synoptics for later program. LASCO Nominal. Synoptics today with polarization brightness sequences. EIT Nominal. Today: 2x2 CME watch and supporting JOP070 Weekend: JOP009 and CME watch. MDI Nominal. Quiet sun program through 9 UT today. Just switched to AR programs with VLA and TRACE. FOV will take in bottom AR belt and 4.5 arcmin above equator. From 24 UT today until Monday: high res program, 2x2 binned velocity images, magnetograms and continuum images in bottom part of high res field. TRACE Nominal. AR program following SW spot in low cadence. Will use higher cadence when VLA starts observing. Will continue until 00 UT. Sat. JOP070 in high res field. At 00 UT will continue CDS synoptics study. Sat. & Sun: 1 min cadence 171, 195 and Ly-alpha. CDS JOP038 3.5 hrs., then AR 8232 on L side of sunspot, then JOP070 for 5 h, 3h support VLA observation. Will return to sunspot pointing at base of plume. Sat and Sun. JOP070 on same target (0,-30) will use this pointing for all QS JOPs on weekend. JOP038 same pointing, JOP082 16-24 UT on Sunday at 0,-30 pointing. Usual weekly N and S polar observation. SUMER Nominal. From Thurs. and Frid a.m. observations: JOP038 has provided a good series in Ne VIII. BACH program, abundance in streamer, needs to be evaluated when we have all the data. Along the slit length (3 armin above limb, across equatorial plane) intensitiy of lines are quite different. Program Non-Thermal Velocities in Coronal Hole is providing good line profiles, but it is not clear if what is seen is a real small CH (?). This is the summary of the SUMER activity plan for 12 June afternoon and 15 June morning: 12 June 06:50 UT JOP038, Brigth Points pointing x = 100., y = 20. 15:15 UT Coronal Hole Non-thermal Velocity pointing x = 765., y = 364. 16:01 UT NETWORK_JUN98_15H, Network evolution (PL) pointing x = 100., y = 20. 13 June 07:00 UT JOP038, Brigth Points pointing x = 100., y = 20. 15:30 UT Coronal Hole Non-thermal Velocity pointing x = 834., y = 415. 16:30 UT Quiet Sun reference spectrum pointing x = 0., y = 0. 18:30 UT Quiet Sun reference spectrum pointing x = 0., y = 920. 14 June 05:00 UT JOP09, Lyman lines in prominence pointing to be selected in few hours 06:53 UT JOP09, Helium line in prominence pointing to be selected in few hours 08:43 UT JOP09, Lyman continuum in prominence pointing to be selected in few hours 10:34 UT JOP09, Lyman lines in prominence pointing to be selected in few hours 15 June 15:49 UT JOP038, Bright Points pointing x = 100., y = 20.
