6 March 1998 Daily Meeting Minutes ----------------------------------- Announcements -------------- * Wallops Data from Eclipse Recall that Wallops supplied back up telemetry during the eclipse from 14:49 - 00:12 UT. ECS office has received QKL files from PACOR for this; however, currently there is a gap from 20:26-20:34 UT and the gap should not be there. We are investigating and will acquire. As for how the Wallops Eclipse data will be stored on the CDROMS, Luis Sanchez added that originally the plan was to merge the data from the prime station (D24) and Wallops. However, this may be difficult to do and may get stored separately on the CDROM. Being decided. * PACOR Power Outage Weekend (Friday afternoon, March 20- Monday morning March 23) EOF may have telemetry via the system being used/developed by the re-engineering team. ECS staff has tested this successfully on Kim Tolbert's IBM workstation with VC0, VC1 and VC2 data. We will perform a final test next week with the operational "SOC" and "TLM" workstations at a time when will not impact instrument teams. * ECS/SOC Staffing: Laura Allen will be out of town until March 18 and Piet Martens will be out of town until March 11. A contact list will be posted in the ECS office of where to reach ECS Staff members and when if needed for "self-serve" commanding, etc. FOT can reach them also if needed to fly back for more spacecraft emergencies (hopefully not!!!!). * The WWW page that was used to transmitt spacecraft status, during the flurry of activities this week, has had some times slightly changed yesterday. SOC noticed people printing out copies and wanted to make certain they received updated version. Later on when we get caught up, this will be linked into the "SOHO Events" table on the Operations page. FOT Briefing ------------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: RSL, VIRGO, Nominal HGA Table Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, Set Daily Pulse, Resync VIRGO Ground Anomalies: 065/0049 - TM Dropout; RFI between D42 & JPL Comm (5 min, recoverable) 065/0602 - TM Dropout; D42 TM equipment problem (2 min, recoverable) 065/0842 - Unable to range at D66; equipment problem (247 min ranging lost) Note: The RFI is solar RFI and expected to continue until March 10. So may see similar dropouts over next few days. Also, Submode #3 patch uplink delayed until tomorrow due to large number of downlink only stations today. Instrument Reports ------------------ CDS: Nominal. Supporting joint VLA/EIT CME campaign on the NE limb, and UVCS Coronal Hole observations at southern polar coronal hole. UVCS: Because of recent ESR's, UVCS did not obtain sufficient high S/N Mg/O exposures above the limb. Hence, still deciding whether to roll to eastern streamer region. LASCO: Detected SW streamer expansion in C2 field at 01:18 UT indicating likely CME. Supporting VLA/EIT CME campaign. EIT: Supporting VLA CME campaign, targeting NE limb with partial field images. Following up on filament eruption/CME on observed at SW. MDI: Switched to full disk/high-res velocity mode
