13 August 1997 SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes Announcments - ------------- After collaborating with people: consensus is to switch to submode 6 at 19 UT on Friday and back to submode 5 at 17 UT on Monday. FOT Briefing - ------------ Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: 225/0246 CDS Watchdog Trigger 225/0520 RCVR#2 Lock Toggling during RCVR 1 Ranging Pass Accomplished Activities: RSL, VIRGO, Extra VC2 1910 - 2110 Planned Activities: RSL,VIRGO, Extra VC2 1430 - 1530 Upcoming Operations: 8/31-9/4 - Mom Mgt, 90 deg Roll, RW4 Mnx, SK Ground Anomalies: 224/1543 2 min TM Dropout D66 Nonrecoverable. Ran out of Predicts 224/1604 11 min Commanding Delay D27 Resweeping RCVR 1 Instrument Status - ----------------- * LASCO showed a viewgraph of many particles passing in front of their C3 field-of-view at 13:50 UT yesterday in a short 20 second exposure. Although they have seen similar events (when CDS opens its door for example), they have not seen images with so many particles before. No instruments were opening/closing doors or other spacecraft activities were occuring around this time. So there is no explanation of the source yet. CDS: Nominal. 1 watchdog error yesterday. Finished JOP013. Today: North coronal hole with CDS. Tomorrow: AR studies. SUMER: Nominal. JOP013 done, Coronal Hole studies with CDS. Tomorrow: reference spectra UVCS: Nominal. West limb streamer at 8 Rsun. Tomorrow, same at 6 Rsun. At the time of the CME observed by LASCO, they were in their synoptic program and may have caught the CME at 2 positions during their synoptic program. LASCO: Nominal. Saw CME streamer event off the West limb. Open-door set of current C1 calibrations are complete, closed-door scheduled for today. Comet Tabur expected in C3 field of view today. EIT: Nominal. Supporting MDI continuous campaign. At 07:12 UT saw darkening of active region on the west limb. At 09:23 UT saw brightening in south polar crown filament (partial ejection of south polar crown filament) MDI: Nominal. Continuous contact high resolution magnetograms and velocities until end of continuous tomorrow at 03:50 UT. Helioseismology after tomorrow.
