EOF/MEDOC SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes, June 5, 1997 Announcements -------------- Reminder, the Weekly planning meeting is tomorrow after the daily meeting. FOT Briefing ------------ S/C Status is Nominal except Receiver #1 Anomaly Summary: None Accomplished Activities: RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, VC2 time-tagged commands Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS (21:30),VC2 via TSTOL, NOM HGA 1 JUL/0000 -- Leap second update Ground System Anomaly Summary: 155/1920 Cmds Abort at CPA DSS-24, 5 minutes NRT Pause, Commands Successfully retransmitted. There was some discussion regarding data quality. SUMER in particular has noticed more telemetry dropouts in their data than usual for the past week or so. PACOR has just received their data tapes (from the ground stations) and will compare the quality of what is on the tape to the real-time data. Changes in equipment of any of the DSN changes over the past week will also be looked into. In addition, Kim Tolbert is inspecting data received on the ECS system and plotting data quality for the past few days and comparing it to past data. STATUS OF SUN: ------------- Low activity. The prominence (S42) still exists. Observed today by SUMER and CDS. TODAY GBOs and INSTRUMENT STATUS: -------------------------------- - La Palma reports very good observations yesterday (magnetic field measurements at .5 arcsec). Will continue measurements for JOPs. - Weather fine in Ondrejov and Wroclaw. Will support today the Chromospheric Observation program of P. Heinzel. - VLA observes today NW filament. - W. Curdt reports very good reference spectra in loops at South West limb (SUMER / June 4, 23:00). Bright point study program with SUMER was not as good as expected (June 4). A short test program will be proposed soon. EIT has seen today CME near S42 -W and a filament eruption SE at 6:00 UT. - Tomorrow special contribution of UVCS in Lyman alpha measurements (Off Limb/JOP 9) - The tomorrow JOP9 target cannot be decided yet (prominence choice could be either S42 -W (with SUMER) or SE). To be planned by 14 UT today. INSTRUMENT PLANS FOR JUNE 6: ---------------------------- CDS 0:00 - 6:30 : Synoptic meridian image 6:30 - 16:30 : JOP 9, Prominence and loops(TBC) SW (S42, W) with SUMER 17:00 - 23:00 : Stray-Light study Note received after meeting: LaPlama will support CDS observations of AR 8048 between 16.30 and 18.30. EIT 7:00 - 13:00 : Supports JOP9 with 304 and 195 images UVCS around 10 UT : Supports JOP9 SUMER 0:00 - 6:30 : Off-limb Spectral Study 6:30 - 17:00 : JOP 9, Prominence (TBC) SW (S42, W) 17:00 - 24:00 : Off-limb Spectral Study
