Vial FOT report ---------- S/C nominal; S/C anomaly: 1997/01/03 01:47 UT - SSR SEF counter jumped 54 counts in one format (usual is 2 - 3 max); FOT has verified that this is not a ground problem or telemetry dropout Accomplished activities: RSL, VIRGO, SWAN, CELIAS loads; return to telemetry submode 1 Planned activities: RSL, VIRGO, SWAN loads Upcoming activity: Momentum management/stationkeeping maneuvers, 1997 January 14 Ground system anomalies: 006/2140 - 7 minutes late for AOS, no ranging until 2218 UT, loss of uplink carrier at 2346 UT (all D46, where there was a power failure 2 hours before the contact): total of 15 m NRT loss 007/0800 - 11 minutes late AOS at D61, data recoverable from SSR 007/0812 - CPA failure, no commanding for 11 minutes (combined with previous anomaly, total of 22 minutes without commandability) 007/0958 - POCC string crash Sun --- No current H-alpha, SXT, or EIT (bakeout) images Nobeyama microwave observations show two actives regions, several filament fragments; yesterday's Meudon H-alpha shows AR and S polar crown filaments. LASCO C2 image shows large streamer N of ecliptic on E limb Instrument status ----------------- MDI, CDS, SUMER, UVCS, LASCO, EIT - all nominal Long-range planning ------------------- CDS, SUMER concentrating on JOPs 009, 038 until weekend (then JOPs 038 and 058) EIT is planning to join JOP 038 on Saturday and Sunday, after the completion of its bakeout. UVCS has begun a white-light pB campaign in both polar holes.
