SoHO Daily Meeting Minutes Monday January 6, 1997 Day 6 Chair: Bobby Doney Notes: Craig DeForest (MDI) ANNOUNCEMENTS Submode switch back to submode 1 at 16:00 UT (11am local GSFC) FOT REPORT STATUS: S/C is nominal ANOMALY SUMMARY: 004/0736 ETE1 = 24.6 (EIT/LASCO temperature), YH limit, caused by bakeout 004/1458 DMA Failure, missed a CDS packet ACCOMPLISHED ACTIVITIES: 004 RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, SWAN 005 RSL, VIRGO PLANNED ACTIVITIES: RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS; Submode 1 at 1600 14 Jan Momentum Mgt/Sk GROUND SYSTEM ANOMALY SUMMARY: 003/2312 TM dropout due to D46 equipment failure 43 min, recovered 004/1438 Intermittent degraded data from 1438 - 1700 006/0100 54 min TM loss from D46 due to SFG crash (recovered) 006/1028 2 min poor quality data from D66, reason unknown Note at 006/1351 CELIAS CTOF detector turned on and off for 10 seconds (no impact --- thermal or otherwise -- to other instruments or S/C) performed successfully. SOLAR ACTIVITY LASCO saw a CME on the 5th. It (and its aftermath) were (and are) visible in C2/C3 CDS saw a prominence go by in the subfield MDI saw mixed-young-and-old-cycle flux, small dipole rotated out of MDI high resolution FOV yesterday. INSTRUMENT STATUS CDS: Nominal. Still exposing the SE subfield until the submode test, then doing engineering work. Tuesday will be the regular plan. SUMER: Waiting to open the door. Will perform P. Lemaire's "sun as a star" program after door is opened and will record stray light. Will study the active region filament (part of JOP009) during CDS synoptic program tomorrow. Also studies of He 584 resonance line. UVCS: Nominal. Doing deep exposures on north coronal hole; OVI line studies, polar hole synoptic program in visible light. LASCO: Nominal. Taking synoptic images plus additional C2 and C3 images (since EIT is baking out). Doing heater control experiments that should not effect other instruments on Tuesday and Wednesday. EIT: Baking out. Their internal temperature is a little bit higher than last time, because of our perihelion condition. (This is what caused the ETE1 to be tripped). MDI: Nominal. Continuing HR magnetograms and velocity images program. PLANNING SUMER/CDS JOPS: 38, 09 scheduled for tomorrow.
