NOTES FROM 1ST DAILY MEETING, 2 DEC 1995 10:00 AM EST PIET MARTENS, SCIENCE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR STATUS OF MISSION - A 34 minute launch slip. The limit on a heater in the Centaur was violated, probably because the internal battery delivered too much power. - No TM was received until stage 5 of ISA/SAD sequence. Kevlar cutters had already been fired. - SOTA advised to hold off on enabling thermal monotoring channels until after MCC1, to avoid unwarranted thermal configuration - Problem with ranging data Madrid, both antennas. Delay on accurate orbital data - Startracker better than the ISO one. It is right at the lower temperature limit - In LR commanding, command verification sometimes takes > 60 sec, which in some cases has led to unnecessary automatic retransmission. BARM disabled for the time being to avoid this - Reaction wheel initialization has started, but has been interrupted due to Santiago DSN contact (no commanding) - TM problems with Goldstone have led to delay of a couple of hours w.r.t. schedule NEXT 24 HOURS - FDF recommends MCC1 at TTI + 30 hours (5 hours later than schedule), about 16:00 GMT, Dec 3. Burns of 582 sec in X2 and 1200 sec in X1, much shorter than originally expected (saving fuel!) - Upcoming activities are reaction wheels activation and HGA deployment. MR TM expected in 2 or 3 hours (around 18:00 UT). This will be followed by GOLF door closure verification and MDI start CCD bake-out, and thermal adjustment 1 hour later. After this preparations for MCC1 will start - ESA Project has decided to keep UVCS switch-on and launch lock activation after MCC1 - CDS has request to increase duty cycle from 70% to 80% anytime in the next 24 hours, to optimize temperature, although it is already within green limits. OK if time is available PROBLEMS - PACOR delivers bursty data to EOF, which may affect CDS IWS. Proposal to conduct test with S/W patch during non-contact time on day 5, and implement if test OK - Duplicate data packages stil arrive at ECS when station handover is not on scheduled time. No solution available at this time - POCC terminal in EOF had to be logged out because it draws too much resources from host. Experimenters now look at data in MAR. Solution will 12020be found to have ECS POCC use back-up string 3 - MATRA has minor thermal concern for 2 thrusters at bottom S/C, which are near cool limit. Situation will be carefully monitored - FOT concern on near 1100 Watt power consumption with experiments off, probably not justified, since substitution heaters draw similar amount of power as experiments END-OF-FILE
