Context of CDS Observations from TRACE

This image shows the position of the CDS slit relative to the Sun's corona as seen by TRACE at around 1,000,000 K (171 Å bandpass). The slit position is shown by the thick black vertical line in the image. The black diamond shape just over halfway up the vertical line shows the position of the `active region blinker' found in the CDS data. The image is 450 x 450 arcsec (1 arcsec pixel size) and is one of a series of approximately 150 images taken once every 9 seconds on April 7th 2000 of active region 8939. This particular image was taken at 12:47:33 UT.
