TRACE Power On Procedure
    
1)  Turn on all the IEEE-488 devices, even if you aren't using them the SMEX-Sim
    may be unhappy if they aren't on-line:
    a. 4 HP Power Supplies.
    b. Newport Motion Controller.
    c. IO tech things - push button on back, right side.

2)  Verify that the status of the wax actuator shorting plug (JXX) is as you want
    it to be. If the wax actuators are to be operated, this plug must be removed.

3)  Turn on the SMEX-Sim. At the DOS prompt (C:\SMEX_SIM>) type "S" and return/enter.

4)  Log on to apache as user trace:
    a. Enter "egse" into a WINTERM window to bring up EGSE.
    b. From the TOOLCHEST (upper left corner) select EGSE, ENGINEERING DISPLAYS,
    Power System , and Thermal. This starts those display pages. Pay attention to
    these during turn-on.
    c. From the EGSE COMMAND CONSOLE window, perform the control file
    "setup", a control file is performed by first selecting (left mouse button)
    PROCS from the list on the left side of the window, then scroll thru the
    list and select the control file you want to perform. That control file
    will appear on the command line. Using the mouse, select the SEND "button.
    d. Perform the control file "ion". When asked; select camera ON, select 
    B amplifier. When prompted for an exposure control word "24" (1/8 second)
    is normally good starting point.
